When you keep returning to the same unhealthy coping tool
Hebrews 12:11
Discipline can feel unpleasant now and still produce good fruit later.
When you keep returning to the same unhealthy coping tool. This is where faith gets practical. Pay attention to the sentence your mind writes next. Is it telling you that you are unwanted, unsafe, behind, foolish, trapped, or forgotten? That sentence matters because repeated thoughts eventually start sounding like facts. A habit becomes dangerous when it starts deciding for you. Jesus Christ did not free you so another appetite could quietly become your master. One honest decision under the lordship of Jesus Christ can be the beginning of a completely different pattern.
What would you advise someone you love to do if they were standing where you are?
Jesus Christ, show me what is true in this situation and expose the story I have added to it. Give me wisdom for my part, courage to obey You, and enough trust to leave the outcome in Your hands. Amen.
